A small hobby, a big passion for opals
Hi! I'm a European hobbyist who sources, cuts and polishes beautiful natural Australian opals from Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, Andamooka, Queensland and other fields.
Everything I sell is 100% natural opals. I never work with nor sell lab-grown or artificial opals. If an opal is treated or is a composite (doublet/triplet), I will always disclose it. What you see in my photos and videos is exactly what you get.
Play of color is everything in the opal world. The tricky part is that the same opal can look very different in different light conditions. I always try to explain what light conditions were used when photographing each opal.
This was one of the first opals I ever touched. When I was cutting it, the inclusions left behind created a perfect smiley face. I still smile every time I look at it — it reminds me why I fell in love with opals.
My journey started just half a year ago. Since then I've bought rough directly from Australia, and taught myself to cut, polish and set opals.
